We’re delighted to share a portion of proceeds from this year’s finale with Our Justice. Our Justice works to ensure that all people and communities have the power and resources to make sexual and reproductive health decisions with self-determination. They envision a world free of reproductive oppression and promise to defend and advance sexuality and reproductive choice as a human right by providing resources and education.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 9 at 8pm for our 13th season finale, “Don’t Stop Me Now!” We’ve been loving our new mashup of Queen songs including this one. We’ll be returning to one of our favorite venues, the Cedar Cultural Center. Tickets are $25 in advance (click here to purchase) or $30 at the door.
Our Collaborator: Meghan Kreidler of Kiss The Tiger
We are so excited to share the stage with Meghan Kreidler, frontwoman of local rock band Kiss the Tiger. Kreidler and her band have released three studio albums, including Vicious Kid (2021) and have opened for prominent artists like Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Lucinda Williams, and Lake Street Dive. Kreidler’s powerful voice and dynamic stage presence will bring an extra edge to the evening’s lineup.
Supporting: Our Justice
In addition to celebrating community and creativity, the evening will support Our Justice, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that all individuals and communities have access to sexual and reproductive health resources. Our Justice provides financial and logistical support to those seeking abortion care and advocates for reproductive justice.
And one more fun chance to catch us out in the community before our finale – Metronome Brewery on Saturday, October 26. Cheers to supporting music education in the Twin Cities!
Saint Paul Pride Our first gig of the season was a rainy one! Thank you so much for all who came to fight the rain, we tried to bring the sunshine, instead we brought the fun! Thank you to all of those in attendance!
Photos for the 2024 season were taken at Union Depot in beautiful Lowertown Saint Paul. Photos by Anna Grinets.
Don’t forget to order for the 2024 PFC season on Bonfire! There are a variety of items from mugs, tote bags, T-shirts to sweatshirts. You can even get your little ones outfitted to support the choir, maybe for our next family friendly gig at Minnehaha Falls!
We are thrilled to be kicking off our 2024 season with two very exciting highlights:
15brand new members! We can’t wait to introduce them to you at our upcoming gigs.
A brand new name! We are delighted to be moving forward under our new name, Prairie Fire Choir. Expect the same high quality, high energy fun from us you’ve always loved.
We have a wide variety of merch available on Bonfire and would love to see you showing your PFC support at our gigs and out in the community. Check out some really fun new products available with our updated logo!
Now Booking 2024 Gigs! Do you know of a community festival, a local venue, or other opportunity you think would be perfect for our fun, eclectic sound? We are currently booking for summer 2024 and would love to hear from you if you’d like to see us somewhere. Send us a message at gigs@prairiefirechoir.org with your ideas!
This fall, our members went through a collaborative process to carefully consider our name and its implications for gender inclusivity. We are excited to begin the new year with a name that better reflects our membership, which is open to any women (cis and trans), and femme and non-binary folks whose voices fall within a certain range (visit the Audition page for more detailed info.)
Please expect some name overlap as we work through the logistics.

We’re delighted to share a portion of proceeds from this year’s finale with Family Tree Clinic, a change agent cleverly disguised as a sexual health and education center. Since 1971, Family Tree has been cultivating a healthy community through comprehensive sexual health care and education. We believe everyone is deserving of not only high-quality and affordable services, but also affirming, individualized, and respectful care. And that’s exactly what they deliver. From person-centered medical care and specialized LGBTQ services, to comprehensive sex education and authentic community engagement, no other clinic in the upper Midwest provides the unique combination of services they do. Family Tree provides the gold standard of sexual health care and education to over 20,000 people each year. And we know they can ensure this standard for many more with your support.
We can’t wait to welcome you to our 2023 season finale in November! We’ll be singing many of our familiar classics and also introducing new favorites, like Florence + The Machine’s “Shake it Out,” a fun mashup of the Beatles, Bill Withers and Five Stairsteps, a sweet arrangement of a beloved television theme song, and, inspiring this season’s show title, “Superbloom” by Misterwives.
Our Collaborators: Wild Goose Chase Cloggers
We are so excited to share the stage with our friends the Wild Goose Chase Cloggers! You’ll get to enjoy their traditional Appalachian clogging to open the show, and we’re working on a couple of songs we plan to perform together!
The Venue: The Cedar Cultural Center
And we’re thrilled to return to one of our favorite performance spaces, The Cedar Cultural Center. Tickets for this all-ages show are $22 in advance or $27 at the door. A 20% discount is available for groups of 10 tickets or more at one time.
